The Elves' class produced these beautiful observational drawings of pumpkins and squashes and retold the magical Pumpkin Soup story in class.  They have been working hard to use descriptive language to retell favourite stories; last week the children sequenced and retold the story of the first Christmas.

In Maths, the focus has been on developing addition and subtraction skills, and using calculations in problem solving activities. The children are looking at making toys with moving parts and levers as part of the  Science /Design &Technology curriculum this term- they enjoyed making split-pin Pudsey Bears for Children in Need on Friday and making paper plate sliding pictures of the Angel Gabriel to take home.  We are also continuing to look at the changing seasons - now asking the children to look out for signs that winter is on its way.
