Frequently Asked Questions
I can’t login to ActiveLearn. What should I do?
You will have received a personal login via school email for each child.
The login form will also ask you for a school code. This has been emailed too but is qmrc (lower case) in case you missed that.
If you have not received a login, please e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
You may also need to ensure that the school has your current email address. We regret that we are not able to send hard copy letters at the current time, so you will need to set up an email address and notify the school.
When I login to ActiveLearn and click on ‘PCM WORKSHEETS’ nothing happens?
You will need to enable pop-ups in your web browser as the worksheets open in a separate window. You can do this in your web browser settings.
There are a lot of printables. What if I don’t have a printer?
That is fine. You don’t need to print all the resources out. Answers can be noted on paper or in a notebook or even verbally. Tailor the activities to what is best for you and your child.
Oops, I missed week one. Should I start from week one or week 2?
The White Rose maths is progressive and each lesson builds on concepts learned previously. So, it’s best to start from week 1 and gradually chip away at it until you catch up. One way to catch up might be to complete some exercises verbally.
In general, who can I email if I am having questions or difficulties?
email@example.com (Please keep in mind that staff availability is very limited at the present time and we might not be able to respond straight away).
I am ill with Covid 19 and I can’t homeschool my child. What should I do?
The health of ourselves and our families must remain our priority. Please don’t worry and just get well. Don’t forget to follow the Government guidelines and phone 111 if you get into distress and think you may need hospitalisation.
If my child falls ill and has mild symptoms of Covid 19 what should I do?
Please let your child recover and only start the learning programme again when they (and you) feel up to it.
We only have one old computer which I need for work? How do I access the school learning programme without a computer for my children?
Please reach out to the parent community and ask for help. We have a brilliant community of parents and children, who are willing to help each other where this is possible. The group uses the Chadlington parents facebook page.
How long should I spend dedicated to home schooling per day?
This is really up to you and your child. Children’s concentration spans vary greatly. Remember, all of our pupils are used to a full school day but it would be unrealistic to expect this at home. Try not to worry about this until after the Easter break, when teachers will be making expectations clear by using video links to support learning remotely.
Should I be homeschooling my child over the Easter break?
No. This is time for you to spend with your family and to have some fun. Teachers need to recharge too, so we completely understand!
I’m worried about a child and would like to report safeguarding issues. What do I do?
If you have an urgent concern for the safety of a child, call 999. However, if you are not worried about a child's immediate safety but have concerns about their welfare, please contact Oxfordshire’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) on 0345 050 7666. The MASH is a multi-agency team which identifies risks to vulnerable adults and children.
