We are palaeontologists!

This term we are palaeontologists!  Pupils in the Wizards and Dragons Classes are beginning to find answers to the question, 'How can palaeontology help us understand the ancient world?' In the Pixies and Elves Classes, pupils are exploring, 'What lies beneath our feet?'

Since the beginning of term, our older children have been starting to develop an understanding of what palaeontologists do, as well as finding out about the different beliefs people hold about how the Earth was created, from the Judeo-Christian creation story to the scientific explanation of how our planet was formed.

Our youngest children have been creating a dig site, to see what they can discover in the ground beneath their feet, from roots and shoots to tiny creatures. On Friday 10th September, Jack Blackwell and Jack Godden came to school with their digger to show the children just what it could do! The children were very enthusiastic.
