Dragons Learning Together

We believe that family life is important. At our most recent survey of the values we hold, you told us that family, love and happiness are the most important things in life and we agree.

Learning goes on in all areas of our life and we are always continuing to grow and develop. We set high standards in our school and encourage children to excel ('Let your light shine!') but of course, children learn best when they are supported both at school and at home. We do not set formal homework as we believe that inspiring life-long learning, in the words of Socrates, “is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.” In school, we try to make learning fun, to arouse curiosity and to encourage children to explore, experiment and play, becoming immersed in the whole experience of learning. We hope that you will use this page to help children extend their learning at home, with you alongside joining in the fun and drawing out the rich learning experiences that our 'learning together' suggestions offer. These are designed to complement the learning that is happening at school. Click on the 'Try this at home' button for this week's inspiration!
